- TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR THE AWARDS IN PDF FORMAT

 

 1.      Pre-Qualifying Criteria for all contractors
 

            i).         Registration

In order for a builder to qualify for the awards, the home builder must have been registered with NHBRC for a period of at least 3 years.  For the category of emerging home builders, the period of registration must be at least one year.

 

            ii).        Renewal of registration

The home builder must have renewed their membership over the last 3 years.

 

            iii).       Enrolments

            The home builder must have completed at least 10 houses over a period of 3 years. If the builder
   has been registered for a period less than 3 years (emerging home builder), then the builder must
   have completed pro-rata of 10 houses.

                        or,

The value of the enrolled property/properties must be at least R2 million over a period of 3 years. If the builder has been registered for a period less than 3 years (emerging home builder), then the builder must have completed pro-rata of R2 million.

 

            iv).       Finance

All home builder nominees who do not satisfy the following financial criteria will be disqualified:

 

§         No outstanding fees except for PA003 and sectional title,

§         For PA003, no amount outstanding exceeding 90 days,

§         For Sectional title development, no amount outstanding exceeding 180 days. In addition,
      the 80% due within 180 days must be covered by a bank guarantee.

§         No outstanding late enrolment fees,

§         No outstanding registration fees, and

§         No financial hold.

 

2.      Social Housing Institutions should all be registered with the Social Housing Foundation

3.      Micro Finance lenders should all be registered with the National Credit Regulator

4.      The winning Local Municipality, Metropolitan Municipality and Provincial Housing Department will be given
    conditions on the usage of the price money by the National Department of Housing.

5.      Savings Club, CBO and NGO’s need to have a component of housing in their businesses.
