Housing Minister, Eastern Cape Housing MEC and Port Elizabeth Executive Mayor sign MOU to fast track the implementation of Zanemvula Human Settlement Project, Monday, July 16, 2007, Protea Marina Hotel, Port Elizabeth.

National Housing Minister, Lindiwe Sisulu, Provincial Housing MEC, Toko Xasa and the Executive Mayor of Port Elizabeth, Nondumiso Maphazi will sign a memorandum of understanding to begin a partnership that will fast track the implementation of Zanemvula Human Settlement project in Port Elizabeth.

Among the key elements of the MOU is the deployment of a national task team and the appointment of Thubelisha Homes, a specialist project management vehicle of the ministry of housing to assist the City of Port Elizabeth to unblock and fast track delivery.
With almost 15 000 houses providing accommodation to almost 90 000 people  built with both social and economic amenities, Zanemvula Human Settlement Project is the biggest housing project in the Eastern Cape and one of the biggest inclusionary housing project in the country.  The project has a capital investment of more than R1 Billion.
