The Minister of Housing LN Sisulu, MECs of the Provincial Housing Departments and the housing institutions in South Africa, pay their respects to one of South Africa’s outstanding leaders. A man steeped in a culture and tradition of uplifting the poorest of the poor. Through his tireless efforts during the apartheid era and then as one of the leaders in a democratic South Africa. 

All of us, particularly those coming form the housing sector will miss your inspirational leadership and visionary approach of translating policy into deliverables that uplifted the poorest of the poor. 

In your memory, we will redouble our efforts and cherish your ideals. We will conduct our business with the vigour, energy and discipline that marked your style of leadership. We vow to work timelessly to upgrade the numerous informal settlements and provide the kind of houses in Kwa Zulu Natal and other parts of country that provide the dignity, you fought so hard for our people to have.
