MINISTER SISULU, WESTERN CAPE PREMIER , EBRAHIM RASOOL AND HOUSING MEC MARIUS FRANSMAN EMBARKS ON WESTERN CAPE HOUSING IMBIZO, AUGUST 11, 2004
The Minister of Housing, Dr Lindiwe Sisulu, Western Cape Premier, Ebrahim Rasool and MEC for Housing Marius Fransman will embark on the Western Cape Housing Imbizo on Wednesday August 11, 2004.
The Minister accompanied by the Premier, MEC for Housing, Top management of the Department of Housing and executives of Housing institutions will visit Drakenstein Municipality to address beneficiaries of a housing project. The project which was stopped earlier would be reopened by the Minister and the Premier.
The Imbizo team will also meet the community of Khayelitsha at OR Tambo Hall in site C Khayelitsha for an Imbizo. The Minister, the Premier and MEC for Housing will address the community and also answer questions on housing developments in the province.
The Minister of Housing, Top management and executives of housing institutions are on a nationwide Imbizo to listen to people on how a people’s contract can be signed to speed up delivery. The Imbizo is also affording political leaders and government officials an opportunity to listen to people as they review ten years of housing delivery.
The Imbizo started in the North West province with a visit to Klerksdorp. On August 12, 2004, the Minister and the Imbizo team will visit the Eastern Cape.
