MINISTER SISULU AND THE BAFOKENG KING AGREE ON A COOPERATION FOR HOUSING DELIVERY.
The Minister of Housing, Dr Lindiwe Sisulu and the King of Bafokeng Kgosi Lerou Tshekedi Molotlegi have discussed, a possible partnership for the delivery of housing.
The Minister said she was encouraged that the King had chosen housing as a beneficiary of the Industrial Participation programme arising out of the re-equipment of the South African navy with corvettes.
“It is an honour for housing ministry that Kgosi Leruo has made himself available to share technical and other resources with the people of South Africa. I am very grateful that South Africans will now share the resources of one of the wealthiest and generous tribes in South Africa,” Minister Sisulu said.
The Bafokeng, the mineral-rich nation, have agreed to share their technical know-how, experience and other resources with the Ministry to expedite housing delivery. The Housing ministry will also seek ways to support the fast tracking of housing delivery in the Royal Bafokeng Nation.
The details of the cooperation between the housing ministry and the Royal Bafokeng Nation are expected to be finalised in the next three weeks.
The Minister viewed a show house, which is an example of the type of houses that could be produced as part of fast-tracking housing delivery.
The prototype was produced by a partnership among the Royal Bafokeng nation, ABC Cash Plus limited, a company listed on the JSE Alternative Exchange, and ThyssenKrupp AG, the commercial partner in the German Frigate Consortium which has built four Corvettes for the South African Navy.
