MEDIA CALL FOR ACCREDITATION
First International Housing Seminar,
July 4-6, 2005,
ICC, Cape Town,
South Africa
The Minister of Housing, Dr Lindiwe Sisulu will host the 1st International housing research seminar to bring under one roof housing experts from across the globe to share experiences and challenges in housing delivery. The seminar will also provide the Department, stakeholders, and the country in general the opportunity to engage with sector research experts from across the globe.
The Seminar Objectives are:
o To develop a comprehensive knowledge base on urban development.
o To provide a platform for researchers, governments, institutions, academics, practitioners, civil movement, NGO’s and, the international broad base of housing and human settlements sector to deliberate on the proposed thematic areas.
o To provide an opportunity for countries to share best practices, information and, experiences in order to influence the policy research agenda and practice.
o To further enhance the south-south dialogue begun through the IBSA (India, Brazil, South Africa) alliance.
Members of the media from research and housing publications including the mainstream media interested in attending the seminar are encouraged to register for accreditation.
All registered media personnel will have to report to the ICC in Cape Town, South Africa for physical accreditation and issuing of media cards as the Seminar draws closer.
