HOUSING MINISTER, MEC’S FOR HOUSING IN GAUTENG AND NORTH WEST PROVINCE AND THE EXECUTIVE MAYOR OF MERAFONG LOCAL MUNICIPALITY SIGN CO-OPERATIVE AGREMENT FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF KHUTSONG HUMAN SETTLEMNT PROJECT

The Minister of Housing Lindiwe Sisulu, Gauteng Housing MEC Nomvula Mokonyane, North West MEC for Developmental Local Government and Housing Howard Yawa and the Executive Mayor of Merafong Municipality, Desmond van Rooyen will sign the Khutsong Human Settlement project co-operative agreement.  

This agreement aims to establish protocols and procedures to enable the three spheres of government to work co-operatively to ensure the successful implementation of the Khutsong Human Settlement project.

During the rolling out of the Khutsong project, which is expected to produce more than 18 000 housing units, families living on geologically unstable land will be moved to Greenfield developments and provided with all necessary socio-economic infrastructure to create a sustainable intergrated human settlement.
