Social housing is a solution to accommodating families in the economically active areas

Social housing is a solution to accommodating families in the economically active areas. It provides good quality rental accommodation for the upper end of the low income market (R1500 - R15000), with the primary objective of urban restructuring, creating sustainable human settlements.
The programme provides for grant funding to establish, capacitate and capitalize social housing institutions which develop, hold and administer affordable rental units within identified restructuring zones.
Social Housing caters workers who struggle to secure decent and affordable accommodation for themselves and their families because they neither qualify for fully subsidised housing nor bonded houses.
It also provides an opportunity to our working youth to live in decent and well-located accommodation, while promoting social integration and deconstructing the apartheid spatial master plan.
Social Housing provides tangible proof that we are a country where people and children from all racial and cultural backgrounds can live and play together.
