SIMELANE MOURNS THE PASSING OF TITUS MAFOLO
The Minister of Human Settlements, Thembi Simelane, has expressed her profound sadness at the passing of Mr Titus Mafolo, a distinguished member of the Ministerial Advisory Panel (MAP). Ntate Mafolo passed away late evening yesterday, 10 December 2025.
Mr Mafolo was a committed public servant whose dedication to improving the lives of South Africans spanned decades. His contributions to the human settlements sector and to the broader democratic project of our country were invaluable. His passing leaves a significant void in the structures and institutions he served with distinction.
From his early years as an activist and a freedom fighter to his role in shaping policies in a democratic South Africa, Mr Mofolo exemplified selfless service. At the time of his passing, he was serving as a member of the Ministerial Advisory Panel of the Ministry of Human Settlements. Previously, he served the department as Political Advisor to the former Minister of Human Settlements, Lindiwe Sisulu.
On behalf of the Department and the entire Team Human Settlements, we extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.
Robala ka kgotso Ntate Mafolo. You have run your race. Our country is in a better position because of your selfless contribution. Sobonana ekuseni.
