Deputy Minister Kota-Fredericks and MEC for Co-orporative Govenance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs in Limpopo, Makoma Makhurupetje will launch the 2015 Women's build in Taueatsoala Village in Limpopo
Seventy year old Peletona Catherine Moreana of Taueatsoala Village in Limpopo is one of sixty beneficiaries earmarked to receive government subsidized houses through the National Department of Human Settlements annual Women’s Build Campaign.
Deputy Minister Zou Kota Fredericks, MEC Makhurupetje, Executive Mayor of Waterberg District Municipality Cllr. Rosina Mogotlane and the Mayor of Mogalakwena Municipality Cllr. Malesela Sebatjane will join hundred Women and Youth volunteers from Taueatsoala and Ga-Hlako villages in the construction of housing units for the vulnerable in these communities.
In line with the Department Women’s month theme; “Moving women’s economic transformation forward”, the Women’s Build campaign seeks to create awareness about the Department women’s empowerment programmes and economic opportunities within the human settlements sector.
The Build is aimed at raising consciousness about the construction sector, women’s role in it and commemorating the 1956 Women’s March to the Unions Buildings against Apartheid Pass Laws.
