The Minister of Human Settlements, Mmamoloko Kubayi and the Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Thembi Nkadimeng will on Tuesday, 18 April 2023 undertake a joint visit to the Dakota Informal Settlement in Isipingo in KwaZulu-Natal following a fire that left scores of people homeless over the weekend.

The Ministerial delegation including Human Settlements Deputy Minister Pam Tshwete, KwaZulu-Natal MEC of Human Settlements Dr. Ntuthuko Mahlaba, and Executive Mayor of eThekwini Municipality Cllr Mxolisi Kaunda will, amongst others, assess the extent of the damage caused and engage with fire victims and the local leadership on intervention measures to attend to the most urgent needs.
