Media Advisory - 01 October 2012

Soon after taking over the Estate Agency Affairs Board, Human Settlements Minister Tokyo Sexwale put rescue measures in place to turn around the institution. This followed a series of disturbing events with potential to erode corporate governance within the institution and industry.

Minister Sexwale is now inviting stakeholders for a two-day summit to map out a shared and inclusive future for the industry. To ensure that the EAAB plays a catalyst role to realise integrated and cohesive settlements, the following thematic areas will be explored in greater detail at the summit:

  1. redefining the role and mandate of the EAAB,
  2. creating an inclusive and integrated Estate Agency Industry,
  3. transforming the Estate Agency Industry as a key economic driver to stimulate growth and development,
  4. and developing a sharpened research and development programme.
