Human Settlements Minister Tokyo Sexwale and Gauteng Premier Nomvula Mokonyane will launch Lufhereng Housing Project in greater Soweto on the 17 August 2010.

Once completed, the project - the biggest mixed housing development in the province - would have created 24 000 housing opportunities. To date 907 units have been completed. The project is aimed at people who qualify for subsidised housing and those who earn between R3500-00-R7500-00 monthly.

The project is a joint venture between the Department of Human Settlements, Gauteng Provincial Government and the City of Johannesburg
