Minister Tokyo Sexwale accompanied by Deputy Minister, Zoe Kota-Fredericks and several MEC’s of Human Settlements will open the department’s Alternative Technologies Indaba at the Sandton Convention Centre in Gauteng tomorrow 29/09/10.
The two day indaba is aimed at exploring how innovation and alternative home building technologies can be used to assist in the creation of sustainable human settlements and improve quality of households.
The Indaba, themed “Exploring Innovation and Alternative Home Building Technologies in the Delivery of Human Settlements” will be attended by amongst others, members of the Human Settlements Portfolio Committee, HOD’s from provincial departments, CEO’s from the banking/financial sector, Housing Institutions and Parastatals.
Alongside the Indaba more than 100 companies will showcase new technology and new approaches to building. They include construction companies, developers, and innovators in areas such as sanitation and solar energy.
