Human Settlements Deputy Minister Zou Kota-Fredericks will on Tuesday, 23 June 2015, officially handover the newly constructed and completed Seshego Community Residential Units (CRU) in Polokwane, Limpopo.
Deputy Minister Kota-Fredericks will be joined by the MEC for Human Settlements in Limpopo Mme Makoma Makhurupetje, Premier of Limpopo Mr. Chupu Mathabatha, and the Executive Mayor of the Capricorn District Municipality Cllr Gilbert Kganyago.
The Seshego Community Residential Units project is the first of its kind in the entire province at a cost R 40 million and consist of 189 units.
The project comprises of a combination of 176 double storey units, 4 disabled units and 9 free standing units.
The project is aimed at facilitating the provision of secure, stable rental tenure for lower income persons and households earning between R 800 and R 3 500 per month.
The Department of Human Settlements main objective is to provide affordable rental housing stock of high quality to low income earning families to restore their dignity and providing sustainable human settlements for all.
