The Minister of Human Settlements, Tokyo Sexwale together with the Premier of Limpopo Province, Mr Cassel Mathale and MEC for Local Government and Housing, Mr Soviet Lekganyane invites all media houses to the official launch of the of Seshego Community Residential Units (CRU) and the official hand over of 1700 title deeds on the 11th of May 2011. Official Launch of Seshego CRU will start from 06:00 until 08:00 in the morning and the official hand over of Title deeds will be from 10:00 in the morning at Westernburg Sports Ground.

Seshego Community Residential Units is the first of its kind in the province at the cost of 40 Million. It is envisaged that most of the former Seshego hostel dwellers will be accommodated in this project. The project targets beneficiaries of the income of up to R3500. The rentals are expected to be R400 for a room and R800 for a 2 bed units.

As part of eradicating poverty this project employed 245 locals, employing skilled and unskilled labourers comprising of 59 women, 146 men and 40 youth. People employed in this project were trained in various construction disciplines during the construction of 189 units. When completed the project will include a clinic and a recreation centre.

With the demolition of the existing hostel and higher density construction the space was maximized for housing. The 2 bedroom units consist of higher density double storey which allows for sharing between two individual tenants or allows for family living. Each design gets a garden for urban agriculture and recreation.
