The Minister of Human Settlements, Mmamoloko Kubayi will tomorrow, 12 May 2022, lead a delegation to the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan in Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape province, as part of efforts by government to ramp up the provision of sustainable human settlements to communities.

The Ministerial delegation will amongst others, receive a briefing from the Metro on performance and reports on areas that require urgent interventions, such as blocked projects, title deeds, emergency housing, amongst others.

Together with the MEC for Human Settlements in the Eastern Cape, Nonceba Kontsiwe, Executive Mayor of the Metro, Cllr Eugene Johnson and MMC for Human Settlements Cllr Shuling Hazel Lindoor, they will conduct site inspections at various priority housing projects. These include the newly built Zanemvula Mega Project which in total will deliver an estimated 13 500 houses, the Bethelsdorp 693 Rectification Project and the Steve Biko Social Housing Project, amongst others.
