Team Human Settlements, led by Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi will conduct a two-day oversight visit to the Mangaung Metropolitan and Matjhabeng Municipality in the Free State to resolve service delivery blockages.

Together with Free State Premier Mxolisi Dukwana and MEC for Human Settlements Ketso Makume, they will conduct oversight of blocked housing projects and find solutions. The programme includes the handing over of title deeds, community Imbizo, services fair as and a stakeholder engagement with women in the construction sector, as part of Women’s Month Campaign launch.

The Department has prioritised the completion of blocked projects, which are expected to deliver close to 10 000 units in the province, the eradication of rural mud houses and asbestos roofs, provision of basic services and infrastructure in informal settlements and homes for military veterans, amongst others.

The District Mayor of Lejweleputswa Municipality, Cllr Veronica Ntakumbana, the Acting Executive Mayor of Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality, Cllr Gregory Nthatisi and Cllr Thanduxolo Khalipa, the Executive Mayor for Matjhabeng Local Municipality will also be part of the programme.
