Minister Kubayi To Visit Free State To Assess Status Of Housing Delivery
The Minister of Human Settlements, Mmamoloko Kubayi, will on 27-28 September 2021 embark on a two-day visit to the Free State Province to assess housing delivery over the past few years and make necessary interventions on delayed projects.
Minister Kubayi is expected to receive reports on human settlements projects being undertaken in the province with the intention to address challenges to enable the smooth delivery of houses and upgrading of informal settlements, through the Urban Settlements Development Grant for the provision of basic services such as water and sanitation.
The Minister has already visited three provinces over the past few weeks; namely KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng and the Eastern Cape to receive status reports on housing projects. As part of the programme during the Minister’s visit to the Free State Province, she will handover houses, title deeds and interact with various housing beneficiaries at the Hillside View Integrated Development Project which comprises of social housing, fully subsidized, military veterans units, Financed Linked Individual Subsidy Programme and fully bonded housing units.
Minister Kubayi will be joined by the Deputy Minister of Human Settlements Pam Tshwete, Free State Premier Sisi Ntombela, MEC for Public Works, Infrastructure and Human Settlements Motshidise Koloi and the Executive Mayor of the Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality, Cllr Mxolisi Siyonzama.
