Minister Sisulu, MEC Pillay and Cllr Nxumalo to visit Cornobia housing project

The Minister of Human Settlements, Lindiwe Sisulu, MP, and KwaZulu Natal MEC of Human Settlements, Mr Ravi Pillay, MPL, and Ethekwini Mayor, Cllr James Nxumalo will on Saturday, 22 August 2015 visit Cornubia Priority Project to assess progress made since the project was launched.

The Cornubia housing project is expected to yield about 25h 000 units. Of these 15 000 will be subsidized units. Government has injected one hundred million for the completion of the phase 1B which is expected to deliver 1000 units. Phase 1A with 500 housing units has already been completed and handed over to beneficiaries.

Last week, KwaZulu Natal Human Settlements was named the Best Performing Province in housing delivery for second year in a row at the 2015 Govan Mbeki Awards while Ethekwini Municipality was named the Best Metropolitan Municipality of the Year.
