MINISTER SISULU TO MEET COMMUNITY LEADERS ON PROTESTS, LAND INVASIONS AND EVICTIONS IN THE CITY OF CAPE TOWN


The Minister of Human Settlements, Water and Sanitation, Lindiwe Sisulu will today, 23 July 2020 meet with community leaders of Khayelitsha and other areas which have been affected by recent land invasions and evictions in the City of Cape Town.


The meeting is expected to take place this afternoon; after the Minister has delivered her 2020/2021 Water and Sanitation Budget Vote speech. The deliberations will focus mainly on concerns relating to the delivery of human settlements and measures in place to address them.


On Tuesday, 21 July 2020 during the Human Settlements Budget Vote Speech Minister Sisulu made an undertaking that she was going to meet with community leaders of areas that have been affected by the spate of recent protests and land invasions in the City of Cape Town.
The outcomes of the meeting will be communicated after the meeting.
