Minister Sisulu to visit Social Housing Projects in Tshwane
Minister of Human Settlements, Water and Sanitation Lindiwe Sisulu will tomorrow, 26 June 2020 visit the Departments’ Social Housing Projects in Tshwane to evaluate progress made since the announcement to re-open construction sites under Lockdown Level 3.
The social housing projects to be visited include Thembelihle Village, Townlands and Little Manhattan. These projects cater for the beneficiaries earning a combined household income of between R6000 and R15 000.
During the visit Minister will also make an assessment on what precautionary measures have been put in place to contain the spread of Covid-19 during the construction.
‘When the national lockdown started, operations went on standstill. Thus it is imperative to visit these sites, inspect progress, so that we will be able to communicate with our beneficiaries on when these projects will be ready for occupation. There is a rising demand for Social Housing and people want to move in as soon as possible”, said Sisulu.
