NATIONAL GOVERNMENT TO MEET STAKEHOLDERS ON THE ILLEGALLY OCCUPIED PRASA CENTRAL LINE IN CAPE TOWN

The Ministers of Human Settlements, Transport and Public Works and Infrastructure, Mmamoloko Kubayi, Sindisiwe Chikunga, Sihle Zikalala, and a delegation from other spheres of government will on Monday, 11 September 2023, visit the City of Cape Town to engage different stakeholders affected by the illegal occupation of the PRASA Central Line.

The main purpose of the visit will be to assess the work that has been done and the plans in place to relocate the remaining occupants on the PRASA Central Line through Operation Bhekela. This comes after the recent appearance of the three spheres of government before SCOPA on the subject matter. Accordingly, it is expected that the visit will entail a walkabout at the affected stations in Langa and Phillipi as well as engagement with various affected stakeholders.
