Relief to Asbestos Families to Restore Dignity and Quality of Household Life

As part of her Imbizo Focus Week programme, Human Settlements Deputy Minister Zou Kota-Fredericks will handover houses to families who have been housed in asbestos temporary dwellings for almost eighty years.

 

The Department, Province, its partners and the Morningstar Development and Upliftment Initiative (NGO) will demolish and rebuild twenty asbestos houses at the end of the project.

 

The Deputy Minister’s visit to area forms part of government programmes aimed at galvanising communities to actively participate in the implementation of the NDPtowards radical socioeconomic transformation and social cohesion.
