TEAM HUMAN SETTLEMENTS IN POLOKWANE TO TAKE STOCK OF HOUSING DELIVERY

POLOKWANE - Human Settlements Minister Nomaindiya Mfeketo and her nine provincial counterparts will converge in Polokwane on Thursday to take stock of housing delivery at the time the sector is facing serious challenges as a result of budget cuts.

The Department of Human Settlements has lost over R10 billion over the past three years from the national fiscus as funds are being redirected to other pressing issues such as free higher education.

This has forced the Department of Human Settlements to be creative and engage private sector partners in the delivery of housing as government is not in a position to deal with the housing backlog alone.

As part of following the money and seeing what it buys, MINMEC would also visit, handover houses and title deeds at Seshego Extension 106.

Details are as follows:

Date    :  Thursday, 26 July 2018

Venue :  Seshego Extension 106, Polokwane

Time    : 13h00
