MINISTER SIMELANE’S DISASTER RELIEF OVERSIGHT VISIT TO FLOOD STRICKEN AREAS MOVES TO EHLANZENI DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY IN MPUMALANGA

 Human Settlements Minister, Thembi Simelane, following her visit to Limpopo on a disaster relief oversight visit, together with the MEC of COGHSTA in Mpumalanga, Speed Mashilo and the Executive Mayor of Bushbuckridge Local Municipality, Cllr Matlanatso Lydia Moroane, will conduct site inspections on the work being done by the Departments Emergency Housing Unit team with their provincial and municipal counterparts, to provide relief to households and communities affected by the recent heavy rains that damaged properties and infrastructure. 

As part of her visit, the Minister together with the MEC and the Executive Mayor, they will provide an update on the status of the provision of Temporary Residential Units TRUs, to  households affected by the recent devastating floods in wards 14, 17 and 30 and other parts of the province. 

The Department of Human Settlements provides emergency housing assistance through four interventions, namely restoration, relocation, rebuilding and repairs.
