MINISTER SIMELANE COMMENDS FREE STATE FOR TURNAROUND IN HOUSING DELIVERY
Minister of Human Settlements, Thembi Simelane, has expressed satisfaction with the progress being achieved by Free State Province in implementing key Human Settlements programmes. This follows the Minister’s pledge in March 2025 to support the province in meeting its 2024-2029 housing delivery targets.
“We all know that this province has faced challenges in the past. However, the leadership provided by provincial and local governments is now yielding visible results. Earlier this year, we made promises, and today we are putting smiles on people’s faces. Their dignity is restored”, said Minister Simelane.
The Minister highlighted several key areas of progress, including the removal of asbestos roofs, replacement of two-bedroom houses, delivery of housing units, handing over of title deeds and upgrading of informal settlements.
