DEPUTY MINISTER OF HUMAN SETTLEMENTS TO CONDUCT AN OVERSIGHT VISIT TO PORT ST JOHNS, EASTERN CAPE
The Deputy Minister of Human Settlements, Tandi Mahambehlala (MP), will on Friday, 27 March 2026, visit Port St Johns, Eastern Cape as part of the Department’s ongoing commitment to strengthening intergovernmental relations, accelerating human settlements delivery, and addressing disaster-related housing challenges.
During the visit, the Deputy Minister will receive updates on the state of housing projects within the OR Tambo and Port St Johns Local Municipalities. These include, assessing progress in the delivery of houses, identifying bottlenecks, and ensuring that municipalities and provincial department account for service delivery commitments.
The visit comprises two parts: a Technical Meeting with the provincial and local leadership and a Community Engagement Session with residents.
