NORTHERN CAPE, FREE STATE AND GAUTENG TO HOLD PUBLIC INFORMATION SESSIONS ON THE PIE AMENDMENT BILL
The Northern Cape and Free State will this week hold Public Information Sessions on the Prevention of Illegal Eviction from and Unlawful Occupation of land (PIE) Amendment Bill.
The Public Information Sessions will be held from tomorrow, 02 June 2026 in Northern Cape and from 03-04 in Free State.
The bill seeks to amend the Prevention of Illegal Eviction from and Unlawful Occupation of Land Act of 1998 (PIE Act). The public has until 16 June 2026 to submit their comments to PIE.AmendmentBill@dhs.gov.za.
The provinces which have already held information sessions on PIE Amendment Bill are Western Cape, Mpumalanga, Limpopo and KwaZulu Natal. Gauteng, Eastern Cape and North West are expected to hold more information sessions next week.
