MINISTER SIMELANE TO ADDRESS SUSTAINABLE INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT SYMPOSIUM SOUTH AFRICA 2026 MINISTERIAL PANEL DISCUSSION

The Minister of Human Settlements, Thembi Simelane, will tomorrow, 25 August 2026 address a Ministerial Panel Discussion at the Sustainable Infrastructure Development Symposium South Africa (SIDSSA) 2026, under the theme: “Securing Africa’s Infrastructure: Building Safe, Resilient and Inclusive Communities”

The SIDSSA 2026 is convened under the theme: “Shaping the future of Municipal Infrastructure: Human Settlements, Housing Development and South Africa’s role in international infrastructure investment.” Accordingly, the discussion will highlight the strategic role of human settlements and housing development in shaping South Africa’s municipal infrastructure investment agenda, as well as to position the human settlements sector as an important platform for attracting domestic and international investment infrastructure.

SIDSSA serves as an important platform to cultivate ideas, foster strategic partnership, and collaboration, and presents an opportunity for government, industry, policymakers, and financial institutions to connect and exchange ideas in creating pathways for sustainable infrastructure development.

Minister Simelane will use the platform to foreground the significance of effective municipal infrastructure as a fundamental pillar to revive blocked human settlements projects to continue shaping sustainable and inclusive communities.
