The Minister of Human Settlements, Thembi Simelane will on Sunday, 27 September 2026 join leaders of different sectors, including government, academic institutions and private sector at the 25th Annual Conference of the South African Association of Public Administration and Management (SAAPAM) taking place in Durban, KwaZulu Natal under the theme “Growth and Sustainability through improved governance: Reimagining institutions, leadership and development in a changing world”.

Minister Simelane will participate as a panel member in a discussion themed “The Future of South Africa: Reimagining Governance, Leadership and Inclusive Development”. This panel will deliberate on various reforms which can help build a resilient, inclusive and prosperous South Africa.

As a Minister of Human Settlements, Simelane is expected to focus on the role of effective governance in advancing sustainable and inclusive human settlements; and spatial transformation and integrated development as instruments for inclusive growth amongst others.
