Human Settlements Minister, Thembi Simelane, and MEC for Cooperative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs, Mr PJ Shayi, will handover more than 200 title deeds in Polokwane Ext 127, Polokwane Local Municipality, following an in-loco inspection of the Senwabarwana Bulk Sewer Project in Blouberg Local Municipality in the Capricorn District Municipality in Limpopo.

Minister Simelane and MEC Shayi will be joined by the Executive Mayor of the Capricorn District Municipality, Cllr M. Teffo, and the Mayor of Blouberg Municipality, Cllr. M Thamaga, to visit the bulk sewer plant. The project is funded through the Department’s Informal Settlements Upgrading Programme Grant (ISUPG), with infrastructure at 92 % complete, it is anticipated to be in operation by the end of November this year.

In Polokwane, the Minister, MEC and the District Mayor will be joined by the Executive Mayor of Polokwane local Municipality, Cllr. J Mpe, to hand over title deeds in line with the Department’s Title Deeds Restoration Programme aimed at the registration of more than 80, 000 title deeds across the country by 2030. A title deed allows families to legally pass property down to future generations, creating a foundation for generational wealth.
