BACKGROUND

The Property Practitioners Bill, 2018 was tabled in Parliament in May 2018 pursuant to Cabinet approval for introduction. The Portfolio Committee on Human Settlements thereafter requested a full briefing on the Bill from the Department. The said briefing was held on 26 June 2018 in Parliament. The Portfolio Committee proposed that the Department and the EAAB should organize the country Property Practitioners Bill, 2018 and Transformation Summit to engage the public and the stakeholders on the Bill. This will be done to enhance the public participation process and to ensure that the transformation of the real estate sector is achieved by bringing all communities together to discuss and set the new path for the property sector transformation in the Republic of South Africa.
