SUSTAINABLE HUMAN SETTLEMENTS RESEARCH SEMINAR
The National Department of Human Settlements in partnership with the Chair for Education in Human Settlements Development and Management at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, will host a Research seminar to generate a common vision on future research into sustainable cities and human settlements in South Africa.
The seminar, under the theme “Sustainable Cities and Human Settlements are Possible - Working Together:” , will draw academics, human settlements practitioners and researchers from institutions of higher learning, TVET Colleges, Civil Society Organisations, Government and the Private Sector
The seminar will rigorously debate and discuss a framework of research themes that will support government delivery, elevate issues of evidence based policy formulation and practise; enhancing of individual, institutional and sectoral capacities and a coordinated cooperation of key institutions around knowledge creation for action.
Members of the media are invited to a media briefing that will take place from 10:30 am – 10:50 am.
